Who can proctor an Ohio state test? ›

Local Human Resource representatives, librarians and similar individuals have the potential to be used as proctors. Students can work with their instructors to identify suitable proctors and proctoring environments.

There is no law that allows a parent or student to opt out of state testing, and there is no state test opt-out procedure or form.

The Readiness Assessments Portal contains a suite of optional assessment tools for students in grades 3 through high school that have been developed by the Ohio Department of Education in collaboration with Cambium Assessment, Inc.

Students may retake any Ohio end-of-course state test needed to meet competency requirements for graduation and to earn proficient scores for diploma seals.

Qualifications and requirements

Have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Be at least 18 years of age and complete any necessary training prior to assignment. Attend assigned exam events and remain at the test center for up to 10 to 12 hours per day or until dismissed for at least three consecutive days.

Your proctor should do the following:
